After five years of development, we couldn’t be more pleased to announce that 210 Amlent Avenue is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s 2015 Next Link Project. Our script and demos rose to the top of a blind judging process and were selected by a Grand Jury of Tony Award®-winning professionals including Donna Lynne Champlin, Hunter Foster, Amanda Green, and Michael Cerveris. (They like us! They really like us!). The show will get it’s first-ever fully staged production as part of the festival this July.
Our creative team—Karl (composer/lyricist), Becky (librettist), and Samantha (director)—have been buzzing around behind-the-scenes with this news for a few weeks. We’ve been working on a budget, setting our fundraising goals, and starting to assemble our creative team for the production. But there’s so much more to do! Watch this space for some exclusive glimpses “behind the curtain,” as we share some of what goes into producing a festival show in NYC. (We are going to be learning a lot as we go!)
We are so thrilled to finally be able to announce the jaw-droppingly talented cast who has agreed to help us bring this show to life in a few short weeks! Leading the charge are Broadway’s Robin Skye and Jason Gotay as Mrs. Jordan and Judah.
We can finally spill the beans: our new musical 210 Amlent Avenue has been selected for the Developmental Reading Series at this summer’s New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). Read more about the reading here.
We’ll be working on rewrites alongside our NYMF dramaturg, and can’t wait to showcase the new version of the show for three performances this July! New relationships, new twists, and new songs await. Join in our excitement on Twitter and on Facebook!
