It’s time to announce our amazing cast for the upcoming July 9–14 production we’ll be mounting as part of the Next Link Project at the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival!
Two of these talented performers—Robin Skye and Lisa Birnbaum—are reprising roles they played last year in our NYMF Developmental Reading, and we can’t wait for them to see all the changes we’ve made to the show since then. We also have a huge slate of incredible newcomers whose experiences include tours of Fiddler on the Roof and Next to Normal, TV’s “Gotham” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and performances with Goodspeed and Shakespeare in the Park.
After five years of development, we couldn’t be more pleased to announce that 210 Amlent Avenue is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s 2015 Next Link Project. Our script and demos rose to the top of a blind judging process and were selected by a Grand Jury of Tony Award®-winning professionals including Donna Lynne Champlin, Hunter Foster, Amanda Green, and Michael Cerveris. (They like us! They really like us!). The show will get it’s first-ever fully staged production as part of the festival this July.
Our creative team—Karl (composer/lyricist), Becky (librettist), and Samantha (director)—have been buzzing around behind-the-scenes with this news for a few weeks. We’ve been working on a budget, setting our fundraising goals, and starting to assemble our creative team for the production. But there’s so much more to do! Watch this space for some exclusive glimpses “behind the curtain,” as we share some of what goes into producing a festival show in NYC. (We are going to be learning a lot as we go!)
We are so thrilled to finally be able to announce the jaw-droppingly talented cast who has agreed to help us bring this show to life in a few short weeks! Leading the charge are Broadway’s Robin Skye and Jason Gotay as Mrs. Jordan and Judah.
