It’s time to announce our amazing cast for the upcoming July 9–14 production we’ll be mounting as part of the Next Link Project at the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival!
Two of these talented performers—Robin Skye and Lisa Birnbaum—are reprising roles they played last year in our NYMF Developmental Reading, and we can’t wait for them to see all the changes we’ve made to the show since then. We also have a huge slate of incredible newcomers whose experiences include tours of Fiddler on the Roof and Next to Normal, TV’s “Gotham” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and performances with Goodspeed and Shakespeare in the Park.
Welcome to the Hamptons – where guests are gathering at the old Jordan estate at 210 Amlent Avenue for Fourth of July Festivities with their host, Mrs. Jordan, a retired actress. But one unexpected guest, Judah, a young poet, is about to ignite a firestorm of events. In his search for the truth, he will unearth long kept secrets that will lead to unexpected consequences. 210 Amlent Avenue is one of the 10 Next Link musicals chosen and to be presented as part of the 12th edition of The New York Musical Theatre Festival, which starts July 7-27.
Samantha Saltzman (Drama League Director, Matilda the Musical – Broadway, Directing Assistant), directs this new musical by the dynamic young duo of Becky Goldberg (book) and Karl Hinze (music and lyrics), with music direction by Andrew Wheeler. What Goldberg and Hinze have created might only be achieved if you crossed August: Osage County with A Little Night Music, added a touch of Next to Normal and a dash of Ibsen’s Ghosts.
The cast of 210 Amlent Avenue includes Robin Skye (Parade – Broadway), Zal Owen (Fiddler on the Roof – National Tour), Lisa Birnbaum (F#%king Up Everything – Off Broadway), Steven Hauck (The Velocity of Autumn – Broadway, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – TV), Nikki Van Cassele (Next to Normal – National Tour), Roger Yeh (Midsummer Night’s Dream – Shakespeare in the Park) and Jen Brissman (Fiddler on the Roof – Goodspeed).
The production’s exceptional crew also includes Christopher & Justin Swader (set design), Driscoll Otto (lighting design), Andréa Breslin (costume design), Emily Naylor (assistant director), Marjorie Ann Wood (stage manager), Kasey Callaghan (assistant stage manager) and Lisa Dozier King (general manager).
210 Amlent Avenue will be performed on Thursday, July 9 at 8pm, Friday, July 10 at 9pm, Saturday, July 11 at 1pm, Sunday, July 12 at 4pm, and Tuesday, July 14 at 1pm, at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street (Corner of 10th Avenue).
Tickets go on sale on June 15 and are $27.50. You can purchase tickets by calling 212-352-3101 or by visiting www.nymf.org.
